Kathryn Lanigan Pruitt’s primary objective is to help her clients make sound decisions during one of the most turbulent periods of their lives. She works with her clients to understand their goals and strategize to develop an effective plan aimed at achieving those goals, whether through settlement or final trial.  Ms. Pruitt has extensive experience handling both amicable and high conflict divorce and custody cases throughout Collin, Dallas and Denton counties.

Ms. Pruitt has been Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2009, has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer in Family Law by Thomson Rueters from 2011-2019, and has been included in the publication “The Best Lawyers in America” from 2016-2020. Also, Ms. Pruitt was named to the Texas Rising Stars list in 2005, 2006 and 2007 by Thomas Reuters Legal. Prior to focusing her law practice on family law in 2004, she prosecuted the rights of victims in catastrophic personal injury matters. She brings that same passion, commitment and tenacity to her family law practice. Over the course of her career, she has developed a strong reputation as a skilled negotiator and litigator in complex child custody matters and high net worth divorce cases.

In addition to her practice, Ms. Pruitt has lectured at various events and for different organizations. She has authored articles for publications through the Dallas Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas. A distinguished member of her legal community, Ms. Pruitt is a member of the Texas Family Law Foundation and the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists.

Ms. Pruitt received her law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, where she was an Articles Editor of the Law Review and graduated cum laude.

Center for Divorce Management Terms and Conditions

Attorney membership in the Center for Divorce Management is at the sole and exclusive invitation by Center for Divorce Management, LLC (“CDM”).  By accepting CDM’s invitation to be a participating attorney, you are agreeing to adhere to the standards of the CDM.  

CDM is committed to promoting the benefits of an amicable divorce.  We also recognize that only the attorneys know what is the best manner to proceed in any particular case.   Members of the CDM, however, recognize that it is certainly in the childrens’ best interests for their parents to not be so alienated that they cannot be in the same room after the divorce.  It is the intention of the CDM that all listed attorneys agree to actually practice in a manner consistent with the Lawyer’s Creed.  

The CDM is not a law firm and does not give legal advice to any listed attorney or client.  All CDM attorneys represent that they are fully independent, and while amicably settling a case is normally best, only the attorneys, in their sole opinion, decide the appropriate strategy and tactics to use in any particular case.  

Membership in the CDM is currently free.  In exchange for your membership, you are agreeing to accurately inform the CDM of any calls or cases that are retained through the efforts of the CDM as requested by the CDM.  This will allow the CDM to accurately manage its marketing efforts on your behalf.  In the event that the CDM decides to make membership a monthly subscription model, then the CDM will give thirty (30) days notice to all participating attorneys.  You may elect to terminate your membership with no obligation whatsoever. 

The CDM reserves the right to alter or amend these terms and conditions as necessary in the sole discretion of the CDM.  Should you not agree with any future term or condition, you may opt out of membership at no further obligation to the CDM.  

Notwithstanding any of the above, the marketing methods and business model employed by the CDM are confidential to, and the property of, the CDM.  You are agreeing that these are the trade secrets of the CDM and are agreeing not to use said methods against the interests of the CDM.
